Mike's Nashville Hot Open in Centerville

Yesterday, my husband and I had opportunity to try Mike's Nashville Hot in Centerville, Ohio.  The restaurant is located at 6230 Far Hills Ave in the Shops of North Village.

Mike's Nashville Hot

Mikes is casual dining, think 5 Guys or Smashburger but for chicken.  We both ordered the tenders plate which was really good.  At Nashville Hot, you choose the spice level of the breading on your chicken and choose your sides.  I picked the hash brown casserole and was not disappointed.  Nashville Hot also serves salads if you want a healthier choice.

In short, we enjoyed our dining experience and will definitely go back!  If you go, tell them the Shurts Realty from RE/MAX VICTORY sent you!

Tips from a new girl in town...

My story take me back about 18 months.  I was actually born in Cincinnati Ohio and lived my first 5-6 years in Cleveland. My mother had 4 children in succession and then we moved to Florida!  Dayton realtor Deanne Parker

After that I've been a lifelong Floridian and so has my fiance'.  I've always had a love for the snow and cold weather, which I know sounds crazy!  Trust me you can get enough of the heat down south.

So one day after I lived a lifetime in Florida, my fiance' receives a great job offer in Dayton Ohio!  We have always enjoyed adventure and so here we are.  Eighteen months ago my fiance' moved and I followed 6 months later on Valentines Day.

I've never looked back.  I love this area!

Dayton area parks

I'd like to share with you a little tip each week on all the fun around here! First, there are so many wonderful Dayton area parks!!   And you can wear a sweatshirt!  There are hills, trails and rivers that run!   If you haven't checked out the area, you really owe it to yourself.  What a treasure!  So we walk these beautiful trails and commune with nature in all it's glory.

This is just one wonder we discovered.  I hope you take the time to enjoy these marvelous walks...next time I'll tell you about Driving Country Roads!

Great fun for the new girl!

New Agricultural Community Ready to Build near Lebanon Ohio

One of the hottest trends in real estate are agrihoods.  Instead of a typical neighborhood with an HOA covenant, residents in the agrihood development pay into a CSA (community supported agriculture) and receive their weekly portion of seasonal produce and pasture raised meat from the community farm.

Aberlin Springs is a new agricultural community located 2 miles off I 71 on Snook Rd in Union Township.  The development sits on roughly 140 acres and is centered around Finn Meadows Farm.  As well as having access to the farm, owners will also have the ability to use the Wellness Center.

Pendragon Homes is the current developer of the project with plan to build 140 homesites on the land.  Right now, there are 2 levels of homes being built.  Manor homes which are on larger lots beginning in the $400's and Cottage homes which start in the $300's.

If you have any interest in this type of agriculture living, please give us at call at 937-604-5194!

$100 Million Dollar Development Coming to Huber Heights

$100 million dollar mixed use development is coming to the community of Huber Heights and is expected to open in summer of 2018.  The development is being planned on 70 acres across from the Rose Music Center at I70 and State Route 201.  Plans have been made for the development to house retail stores (with the possibility of being anchored by Dick's Sporting Goods) as well as offices, hospitality and possible residential space.

The Rose Music Center, which opened in 2015, was built to encourage the development of the area.  The Rose Music Center came at a cost of $19.3 million.

Beyond all the recent and upcoming development in Huber Heights, the community is close to WPAFB and is an easy commute to the northern communities of the Miami Valley such as Tipp City and Troy.

How To Choose a Trustworthy Lawn Care Company

There are plenty of reasons why you would want to hire professionals to care for your lawn. Hiring a lawn care company will save you time, guarantees you won’t destroy your lawn by doing the wrong thing, and can actually save you money by providing all the equipment needed for a beautiful landscape.

If you’ve decided to put your grass in someone else’s hands, your first concern is finding a lawn care team that you’ll be able to trust with your lawn - but also with your home, your pets, and your family. It can be a challenge to understand all the elements of a reputable lawn service company if you don’t know what questions to ask.

The experts at Ziehler Lawn and Tree Care shared a list of the questions homeowners should be thinking about when they’re looking for an excellent lawn care company, and the kind of answers they should receive.

Q: Is the company locally owned and operated?

A: Not only are locally owned companies care more invested in their community than a large corporation, but they know what lawn care techniques work well in their specific environment. Large companies that aren’t locally owned and operated use the same methods across the country. They can actually damage lawns by using techniques that work well in some environments but not others.

Q: Is the company certified and licensed?

A: Each state has its own laws and regulations, but you should never use a company that doesn’t have the proper certification and licensing. They may not have the proper experience and knowledge to do a good job, but an injury on the job may leave you with liability.

Q: Does the company offer a service guarantee?

A: A good lawn care company should be able to guarantee that they will deliver the results they promise. If they don’t meet your expectations they should be willing to come back and do the job again, for free.

A great lawn care company will contact you before they service your lawn, clean up debris and fertilizer from driveways, decks, porches, and sidewalks after all applications, and send you an email after each service with notes. You should expect that your lawn care company goes above and beyond your expectations.

Q: Does the company have a good reputation?

A: If you know someone that uses a lawn care company and they like their services, that’s a great start. These days the internet makes it very easy to research a company before employing them, so a quick look at Yelp or Google+ reviews can give you a good idea of who you will be working with.

Q: Do they offer a free quote?

A: It’s a bad sign if a company doesn’t want to put in some extra effort in order to get your business. Providing a free quote not only shows that a company is easy to work with and they want to earn your business, but it lets you know what kind of financial investment you will be committing to before you hire them.

Q: Are their treatments and procedures family-friendly?

A: A lawn care company should be using products that won’t harm your family and pets. What’s more, they can implement methods that actually help the environment. Lawn care professionals are in close contact with the environment everyday, and they should know what techniques work to make it cleaner and safer for everyone.

Q: Do they offer the services you need?

A: A wide misconception is that lawn care companies all offer the same services. Before you choose a company, visit their website to make sure they offer the services you want. For example, some companies won’t do aeration, lay down fertilizer, or know how to help with proper tree and shrub care. Some lawn care companies will also handle mosquito and pest problems.

Trust The Professionals!

It’s what they’re there for! There’s no exaggerating the damage that can be done to a lawn and landscape through improper practice. From destroying a lawn to killing off all the trees on a property, the effects of choosing a lawn and landscape company without doing your research can be devastating.

When you choose a company to care for your lawn, make sure you’re picking a reliable company who will do the job right the first time! There’s no need to settle for less.

47th Annual Ohio Sauerkraut Festival Coming to Waynesville

The second weekend of October is just around the corner marking the weekend for the 47th Annual Sauerkraut Festival in Waynesville.  This festival has become one of the premier craft festivals in the state of Ohio boasting over 450 Waynesville Ohio Homes For Salevendors.  All vendors are checked to make sure their goods are handmade and of great quality.

Along with shopping that may help you cross people off your holiday list, the festival is known for its unique food offerings featuring sauerkraut.  One of my personal favorites is the sauerkraut pizza!  Other food items include traditional sauerkraut items along with sauerkraut doughnuts and fudge!  Not to worry if you aren't a sauerkraut fan, there are plenty of other types of food available.  If you have never been to Waynesville, take the opportunity to check out the residential shops that line the main street.  Waynesville is known for its vast array of antique shops.
