Being from Ohio I love to get out of the cold winter weather for a warm break if I can!
My favorite place and one I often recommend is Siesta Key, Florida. The Powder like white sand and clear waters make it a favorite spot in America. Lots of various beaches to visit in the area and great fishing are another reason it is high on my list for vacations!
Nokomis is right down the road and also has a unique beach with a Jetty where you can sit for hours and watch boats come in and out of the channel leading back into the bay waters. It's a great place for kids, with lots of shells and always different activities to watch. We regularly see dolphins, manatee, and even have seen some sharks near the rocks at the Jetty. I recommend doing a little research to see what area fits your family's lifestyle better.
