How To Win as A Home Buyer In A Sellers Market

A Successful, Experienced Dayton Realtor Will Help You WIN!

No doubt in anyone's mind that 2020 will go down in the history books as one of the craziest years in the 21st century!  The Covid 19 pandemic, quarantines, the US election, and the housing market have had a huge impact on our lives this year.

As 2020 began, the Dayton Ohio housing market was strong and had fully recovered from the 2008-2012 recession. Home prices were up and mortgage rates low.  Houses were selling for fair prices in a relatively timely fashion.

Then by March 2020, Covid came to America.  The housing market came to a halt across much if not most of the country.  Here in the Dayton real estate market everything slowed down dramatically in March and April.  Everyone was a little worried about the market conditions moving forward into the year.

However, in May the buyers came out of the woodwork and began their house hunt!  Housing inventory has been low.  Those two factors created the current "seller's market" as we call it.  Simply, a seller's market is when there are more buyers than there are homes for sale!

So with that understanding of Dayton Ohio real estate conditions, many buyers are frustrated with their experiences of buying a home.   Just this week we began helping a couple who had worked with two other agents from different companies who had been unable to WIN a purchase contract on the buyer's behalf.  They were recommended to us, top Dayton Realtors, and we have begun to walk with them through the buying process to WIN in the current conditions.

The basics of buying a home as illustrated in the above graphic are now vitally important!Dayton Ohio Realtors

First, you have to have an experienced real estate agent in Dayton Ohio who knows how to work within a strong seller's market!  We have 17 years' experience as buyers agents and have the know-how to help buyers in any market conditions.

Second, get your financing started!  That included talking to a reputable, local lender.  Avoid the online mortgage company.  Sellers want to be able to connect easily with a mortgage lender if they have questions about your ability to buy a home.  A pre-approval letter is a must before you begin looking at homes.

Third, learn about the process and the communities you are interested in.  That's where we come in again. A great Realtor in Dayton Ohio will educate you in the process about construction quality, neighborhoods, community taxes, etc.

We would love to chat with you about what you are looking for in your next home in the Greater Dayton area!  Please give us a call at 937-241-2124 or 937-604-5194.  We are here to help.  Our services are free to home buyers!
