The Heart of Keller Williams: Love, Compassion & the Culture of Care

Real estate is often seen as a business built on contracts, closings, and commissions—but at Keller Williams, we know the truth: this industry is built on people. It’s built on relationships, on showing up for one another, and on serving our communities with generosity and heart.

This is why KW Cares exists—and why Keller Williams agents across the world continue giving, year after year, after every home sold, and in every season where someone needs help.

KW Cares is more than a charitable organization. It is the living heartbeat of Keller Williams culture.

A Culture Rooted in Compassion

Every KW agent has opportunities to contribute to KW Cares throughout the year. For many of us, it’s simply part of who we are—we don’t just help people buy and sell houses, we help people rebuild, recover, and rediscover hope when life takes an unexpected turn.

KW Cares steps in during:

  • Natural disasters – supporting families across the country after hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, and fires.
  • Medical emergencies – providing critical assistance when insurance falls short.
  • Personal crises – helping Keller Williams associates and their families through sudden hardships.
  • Community-wide tragedies – showing up for neighbors even when the cameras are gone.

While the real estate market rises and falls, one thing never changes: Keller Williams agents care for people first.Keller Williams charity work

A Story That Shows What KW Cares Truly Means

Seven and a half years ago, Keller Williams Las Vegas associate Tiera McQuater hit a patch of black ice. In an instant, her car went over a cliff and fell 250 feet—leaving her paralyzed from the neck down.

Her Market Center rallied around her with unwavering support, but as the years passed, her medical needs changed and insurance no longer covered the cost of in-home care. Tiera needed specialized equipment to stay safe and maintain a level of independence.

That’s when KW Cares stepped in.

A KW Cares grant provided Tiera with a refurbished, voice-activated bed—dramatically improving her safety, daily comfort, and ability to live more independently. It was a gift she could not obtain through insurance, but through the love and generosity of her KW family, it became possible.

Tiera served as the Executive Assistant to Debbie Zois, Operating Principal of Keller Williams Las Vegas. Witnessing the impact of Tiera’s grant moved Debbie deeply—and inspired her to take action. Debbie offered a $10,000 matching challenge, encouraging others in the KW Family to give, share their love, and continue lifting each other up.

This is what Keller Williams culture looks like.

This is who we are.

Why We Give: A Family That Shows Up

Keller Williams agents don’t just work together—we walk through life together.

We celebrate one another’s wins.

We support each other through losses.

We step up when disaster strikes, even if it affects a stranger thousands of miles away.

Because at KW, the word “family” isn’t a slogan. It’s the truth.

When you donate to KW Cares after a closing—or when you join a fundraiser, serve at a disaster site, or give quietly behind the scenes—you become part of a legacy of compassion that spans every Keller Williams Market Center in the country.

And for those who receive help, it’s not just financial support.

It is dignity.

It is hope.

It is love in action.

Love Is the Real Foundation of Our Work

Homes matter—but people matter more.

The culture at Keller Williams has always been built on care, generosity, and a commitment to lift others higher. KW agents don’t wait for permission to help. We step in, step up, and step forward whenever someone needs us.

And every time we give—whether it’s $5 after a closing, $500 in a time of need, or a $10,000 match like Debbie—our KW Family grows stronger.

KW Cares is not just what we do.

It’s who we are.
