A Real Home Buying Story in Beavercreek: Joe Graham’s Experience with Don & Cyndi Shurts

There is something especially meaningful about hearing directly from the people you have had the privilege to serve. In this client testimonial video, Joe Graham shares what it was like for his family to purchase a home with Beavercreek real estate agents Don & Cyndi Shurts. His story offers a firsthand look at the kind of guidance, communication, and local knowledge that can make all the difference during a major move.

Joe and his family purchased a home with a Xenia mailing address, but the property is located in the Beavercreek School District. That combination is appealing to many home buyers because it offers access to one of the area’s most sought-after school systems while still providing a convenient location near so many of the amenities that make this part of Greene County such a desirable place to live. For buyers searching for a home in Beavercreek, opportunities like this can offer both lifestyle value and long-term appeal.

The Value of Working with Local Beavercreek Realtors

As an active-duty member of the United States Air Force serving at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Joe’s move carried added importance. Military families often face unique timelines and pressures when relocating, especially during a PCS. That is why working with a Beavercreek Realtor who understands the local market, the pace of relocation, and the importance of clear, consistent communication can be so valuable. In the video, Joe shares that he appreciated the communication “by phone or email” and felt there was “hundred percent clarity” throughout the process. That kind of feedback means a great deal to us because helping clients feel informed and at ease is always one of our highest priorities.

Beavercreek continues to be one of the most popular communities for buyers in the Dayton area, and it is easy to understand why. Its location offers convenient access to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, major employers, shopping, dining, parks, healthcare, and entertainment. The Beavercreek area is also known for strong schools, well-established neighborhoods, and the kind of everyday convenience that many families are looking for when choosing where to put down roots. For those relocating to the region, having a Dayton Ohio buyer’s agent who knows the differences between communities, neighborhoods, school districts, and property types can make the home search much more productive and much less stressful.

Helping Military Families Relocate to the Dayton, Ohio Area

Joe’s story is a reminder that buying a home is not just about bedrooms, bathrooms, or square footage. It is about finding the right place for your family, your future, and your next chapter. It is also about having the right Realtor by your side—someone who listens well, communicates clearly, and brings real local experience to the table. Whether someone is moving into the area, preparing for a PCS to Wright-Patterson AFB, or simply looking for a trusted Beavercreek real estate agent, the relationship matters just as much as the transaction.

The one thing I will say is that there was never a day when Don was showing us a house or talking to us by phone or email, all of which he did so with very quick reaction times. I was very impressed with that. Very professional, but We never parted ways at the end of a day or at the end of a phone call, which left me with questions. 100 % clarity all the time. And I was always at ease and never stressed about the process. Hi, my name is Joe Graham and I just recently bought a home in the Xenia, Ohio area. What led me to connect with Don and Cindy was my wife doing some shopping around to find a good realtor and they had the highest ratings of anybody within the local area. So that's why we went with them. To try to find a home where I could help my family set down roots. working with Don and Cindy was. easy compared to what I've heard from folks' colleagues who have been in the home-buying business for quite some time. So there was a little bit of hesitation going into it, but after working with Don It was clear that he was a professional who knew what he was doing and knew how to get ahead of issues that he knew we would ultimately ask and point out during the process. There were some unique, I'll just say, behaviors from Don's end that made it a lot easier to get through the home-buying process. He did a really good job of one, planning out multiple houses per day. I know this is going to sound trivial, but making it to where we weren't going back and forth across town. It was very logical, there were a lot of times also where. We'd be asking questions. and the questions would seem to compound on each other and we might miss one. He'd go, also you might want to think about this and he'd point something out and he would ask the question for us and then of course he would answer it, which made life a lot less stressful for us as home buyers. Don did a really good job of pointing out a lot of things that the inspector was going to annotate. And he did a phenomenal job of walking through the final inspection report, which is great. And he also talked about, on a scale of ⁓ severity, money, and investment time, in order to fix things, he expressed his objective opinion on why we should or should not ultimately be concerned about certain things. But I think because of how he handled the entire thing, all the way through signing all the documents and taking our picture. It's made me appreciate the homebuyers' stance, but also I would be a little bit more cognizant when it comes time for me to be a stellar, purely because of how involved Don was with the process. What would I say to anybody else who's considering him? I would say don't waste your time looking at anybody else. Go right to them because you don't want to waste your time, because time is the only thing in life that we can never get back. So just skip all the other realtors and legitimately go right to Don and Cindy, 100%.
